HIOS EID CELEBRATION

5 October 2014

Today we were at Southampton Medina Mosque for our first HIOS Eid party.

Brothers, sisters and children had a wonderful time.

The bouncy castle was unquestionably the best feature of the event!

A big thanks goes out to all the families and friends who took part, and helped to make this event so joyful - and even bigger thanks go to our event manager!

We pray that this Eid brings understanding, respect and care for people of all walks of life.

EID MUBARAK...

HIOS Eid Celebration

Eid-ul-Adha ('festival of Sacrifice'), also known as the Greater Eid, is the second most important festival in the Muslim calendar.

PRESS RELEASE: Hampshire Muslims Condemn the Barbarity of ISIS

Hampshire Muslims Condemn the Barbarity of ISIS (3 September 2014)

Hampshire Islamic Outreach Society (HIOS) press release on the barbarity of ISIS.

"This depraved act is yet another illustration of how this group betrays the very principles of Islam they claim to uphold. They dishonour our faith, and sully the Islamic principles of justice.

We send our condolences to the family of Steven Sotloff and all those left bereaved by this conflict.

Each day ISIS seeks to carry out an act more barbarous than the day before, craving the oxygen of publicity to give credibility to their heinous acts. We condemn unreservedly their psychopathic violence, whether it is on minorities, on civilians, or on fellow Muslims.

ISIS does not speak for Islam, and has been repudiated by ALL Muslims. Their message only appeals to those who are easily duped by their twisted message purporting to be Islam. They seek to glamorise their violence, and unfortunately, the media has a part to play in adding to that glamour.

We, local Muslims in Hampshire, condemn this brutality and wish this bloodshed in Iraq will end soon."

Ends.
