HIOS EID CELEBRATION

5 October 2014

Today we were at Southampton Medina Mosque for our first HIOS Eid party.

Brothers, sisters and children had a wonderful time.

The bouncy castle was unquestionably the best feature of the event!

A big thanks goes out to all the families and friends who took part, and helped to make this event so joyful - and even bigger thanks go to our event manager!

We pray that this Eid brings understanding, respect and care for people of all walks of life.

EID MUBARAK...

HIOS Eid Celebration

Eid-ul-Adha ('festival of Sacrifice'), also known as the Greater Eid, is the second most important festival in the Muslim calendar.

HIOS at local Multicultural Walk

15 September 2014

HIOS members attended the interfaith walk organised by Basingstoke Faith Leaders Forum and Multicultural Forum and supported by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Hampshire Interfaith Network.

The walk started in Chute House and ended in Carnival Hall. We passed by all faiths' worship places and temples.

We enjoyed the opportunity to chat with people of other backgrounds, and had the opportunity to introduce HIOS and its activities. Participants asked a number of interesting questions about the Muslim faith, which we discussed over a cup of tea.

Thanks to the organisers and all those who joined the walk! HIOS (Hampshire Islamic Outreach Society)
